Hi!

Does anybody know what layout the Sensio 3D DVDs use? In the news section it is mentioned it is not field sequential. Is it side-by-side, over/under or something else?

Peter

Björn, do you know what format is actually used on the discs? You could find out by playing a Sensio disc without Sensio device connected. You should see both left and right image on your TV in side-by-side, over/under or some other layout.

I want to know this because I want to make sure my Stereoscopic Player (http://mitglied.lycos.de/stereo3d) does support this layout.

Does the Sensio format do side by side unsqueezed, or are the side by side images slightly squeezed for encoding to maximize the available resolution on the 1.37:1 screen? I saw a very brief clip of a Sensio DVD and it looked like it may be squeezed for the encoding, but unsqueezed when combined and page flipped for frame sequential playback.

went to a sensio dealer and tried to watch haunted castle.

the image was dark, flickery, intermittent and pseudoscopic.

they apalogized and said it needed calibrating.

went back 2 weeks later when they said it was fixed.

guess what, still the same.

still pseudoscopic.

Anyone that wants a screen grab of the sensio format, just email me at 3dman@materialworld.com.au
Basically it is side by side squeezed 720x480 image with a 6 pixel vertical black border up the middle of the 2 images. The image on the left is 360 pixels wide, then the 6 oixel border then a 354 pixel image on the right

Hi! I tried to e-mail you for a screen grab, but my e-mail did an instant bounce back. So if you can send the screen grab to the e-mail address in this header, that would be great.

Im wondering.. Even though they may have side by side formattd DVD, How will this look on a "norma;" CRT TV? wont it flicker?

and on a plasma screen display, is the sensio player actually like a hi-speed computer that does pageflip stereo?

anyone care to enlighten us on the enitire concept of what exactly is the hype about sensio?
regards
Clyde
