I would like to come up with a comprehensive list of shutterglasses-compatible projectors.

From earlier postings on this board there seem to be:

Infocus LP340
Infocus LP340B
Infocus LP350
Infocus LP650
Infocus LP70

Davis DL X10
Davis DP X16

Sony VPL-HS1

Please check the table on page:

http://stereo3d.com/projection.htm#single

Please report your experiences with

PAL-Video
NTSC-Video via S-Video or Composite
VGA-60Hz
VGA-other frequ.
DVI

Thank you

Christoph

Thank you Michal.

Can you give me details on the various input formats: PAL-3D, NTSC-3D, VGA-3D and how good they perform (ghosting and sync)?

Check the chart on the mentioned page for reference.

Hi Christoph

I have just now available only the LP650 ...
I was able to test the InFoxus X1 only for a short time and only with PC ...

I did not tests the LP650 with stereoscopic
video data (PAL or NTSC) ...
I use for playback of every analog data computer
(connection of analog source to AD/DV convertor, input to PC through firewire, on the fly conversion to OpenGL page flipping at any outptu frequence). For DVD palyback I use DVD OpenGl page flipping capable PC DVD player ...

Expereinces with LP650:

VGA 60 Hz works (1024x768). The DLP internaly buffers the data and it produce exacly 1 frame delay in comparion to the output from PC. I use shuterglasses synced to the DIN-3 connector
on my Quadro 750XL card and it is neccesary to
swith the eye in comparison to what is visible on the CRT monitor ...

In the 60 Hz mode it somtimes look like the eprojectors swap buffers in the midle of the image (line on the ouptut), but it alwasy shows the correct eye image ... I can not explin this effect ...

Input form higet than 60 Hz VGA frequence produce stereoscopic buffers mismatch (mizing of left and rigth eye images on the screen) ...

Hi,

I thought it appropriate to post a question here.

I have managed to get my hands on a compaq MP2810 DLP.
At 1024x768 native and 60Hz refresh everything seems to work... almost. The problem is that in the beginning the images are synched perfectly, but they start to go out of phase rapidly, endig up with the left image in the right eye and vise versa; at which point a frame "skips" and everything is back to normal, till after a few seconds it stars to go out of synch with the shutters again.

From what i can tell, the refresh rate that is being supplied to the glasses is a little different to what the projector is interpreting, although it is recieving the same signal.

I have sat down for half a day to try and manually synch them, but the clossest i can get is 59.76Hz with powerstrip, but gradually after half a minute that too will go out of synch.

I thnk the projector meant to go into a frequency lock but it doesn't. For what it's worth, when it is synched, even for a few seconds, everythng looks so beautiful that i dont ever ant to leave my room - ghosting is also completely eradicated.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

RAGEdemon,

A friend of mine has a DELL 2100MP and it does the same thing with field-sequential 3-D video, be it NTSC composite, component video, or bobbed 60hz video from his PC: ...Only good for a second or two - then is out of synch for a while.

Michal,

Based on your brief testing of the InFocus X1, would you say it held synch well and consistently?

I get the same _exact_ results when attempting to bob a field sequential 3D (for shutterglasses)video from the VLC Media Player on my PC to an interlaced TV... just so people know that it's not just a projector problem. The same video will play perfectly on my computer or on a DVD to the TV, both using shutterglasses, but not from the PC to the TV.
BTW, I don't have that problem with field sequential anaglyphs, as the images never reverses. Those work perfectly...

Hi guys,

You will be glad to know i have managed to fix it to an extent.
What you have to do is up the resolution to the highest possable supported by the projector, and NOT native.
Refresh rate should be kept at 50.

Everything looks great, though some blue ghosting is still visible. Also as mentioned in another post, it is exactly 1 frame lag, so we will have to rewire ou glasses, or wear them up-side down :-)

-- Any way to swap eyes from the driver? (elsa revelators here)

Hopefull this will work with your system too, and most projectors.

Best of luck

you can get the infocus x1 for under $1000. I'm seriously considering the infocus x1 as my first projector.

I have the Encounter in the 3rd Dimension DVD and House of Wax with EDimensional Wired PC glasses...Here's my experience.

1. I tried playing the DVDs through my SET TOP dvd player to my Sharp 100hz 28" Widescreen TV. It is in syc for about 15-20 seconds and then slowy goes out of sync to reversed 3D and back. When in sync it looks awsome!

2. Then I turned on my Infocus X1...same video feed. The image on screen seems to show both images at the same time. I can't seem to get the projected image to display properly?

3. Tried playing the DVDs through my computer (Power DVD) to my projector. Same thing, the image does not display correctly. There seems to be no definate left and right image with little flicker.

4. I'm in the UK and the discs are obviously NTSC but both my TV and the X1 are pure NTSC capable.

any idea on how to get the TV to stay in-sync or to get the projector displaying correctly?
