I want to display stereoscopic fine art photos on a large SVGA monitor, at the highest resolutions possible.

I have a Sony 21" FD trinitron (the E500) which does 2048X1536, as well as an Nvidia Quadro (Elsa Gloria II chipset) with 64MB VRAM that also supports that resolution. The monitor and the card also support very very high refresh rates.

The question is, can that display mode be driven interlaced, or any other very highres mode, like 1280X1024 or 1600X1200? I'd prefer to display in at least 1600X1200. The monitor is tack sharp and you can make out very fine details at those resolutions.

What about page-flipping? What's better? Is there a specific video card that supports very high resolutions with interlacing? I don't know that the Quadro will do interlaced modes.

What glasses would one reccomend for best quality/brightness/no ghosting? Being able to have multiple sets of glasses at once and/or IR glasses is also of interest, then more people can view the photos at one time.

Thanks for any input.

You may want to check out 3D Pix - eval is available at www.win3d.com. It uses WINx3D for stereoscopy, so is able to do page flipping on the nVidia chipsets. You should be able to get success at the resolutions that you are interested in.

With page-flipping, you want to have as high of a refresh rate as is possible. It is possible, that with the very high resolution that you are looking for, that you may need to compromise on the refresh rate - maybe about 85 Hz. You will need to find a balance between these two factors for best results on your hardware.

What gives you more brightness through the shutters...page flipping or interlacing? Does it end up coming out about the same? I'd assume page flipping looks better all around, because you get to keep the full resolution of each image...

Also, what glasses are best to use with page flipping and my Quadro board? Will it work with the Revelator glasses? (I just happen to already have a pair, and I know that you can plug in more than one set of glasses at a time...up to 4 or 8 depending on if you have the IR or wired versions...which is another desire of mine.)

And last question...can 3D pix act as a slideshow software? What I -really- want is something like Play Inc's Performer software that is part of their Gizmos for Windows software...it does perfectly smooth dissolves and wipes. Unfortunately it runs at a fixed resolution...640X480, to do all that nice stuff using DirectX. If there was a board that had Amiga-esq hardware blitting, it would be easier. (anyone remember their first pair of 3D glasses for the Amiga and that silly FATBLASTER game?)

Thanks all,

1) Pige flipping gives both beter brightnes
and vertical resolution

2) The key is the qulity of the shuter panels.
Quality is not cheap. I have tested several
LCD glasses - the best comfort - NuVision 60
GX + NSR box ... But this is solution for profesionlas ... The secon were Iart Eye3D ...

3) Yes, it can ..It have an programable slideshow
