Is it possible to play games in 3-D on a Macintosh, with shutterglasses or an HMD? Are there drivers you can download to do this or special hardware necessary?

Thanks for any info you may have.

Yes. Formac Electronics makes the Permedia-based ProFormance line of 3D graphics cards. which support a range of shutter and refraction-based solutions. namely their own special shutter glasses and the Crystal Eyes Z-Screen refractive screen overlay(Which uses cardboard glasses).

Here is a review of the ProFormance III 16MB:

The fastest version released was the ProFormance III+ 32MB. a 66Mhz, 32-bit PCI card which performs about on par with a Rage 128 Pro.

Crystal Eyes Z-Screen refractive screen overlay(Which uses cardboard glasses)!

The Crystal Eyes Z-Screen polarizing screen is sold with a pair off plastic polarized glasses ,if you want cardboard glasses you have to buy them separatly.

Thanks for the info. This may be a stupid question, but how does one get the Mac to output field sequential images to the monitor with the Crystal Eyes Z-Screen? I have shutterglasses (which I use for watching 3-D movies) as well as the old 3-D i-glasses, but I cannot find any drivers or anything that will allow the Mac to output FS 3-D.
