Most of the 3D resources I've found are extremely outdated, including manufacturer's websites. I've also noticed that a lot of these shutter glasses (which I assume is still the best way to get 3D for a reasonable budget -- am I right?) need an extra card or VESA pin which does not come standard on modern video cards. So, I'd like to get some info from the experts here on the Stereo3D.com discussion board. I've formatted my questions in a neat list below. Thanks in advance!

1. Are shutter glasses still the way to go, or is there something better out there that's affordable for a college guy?
2. What are the best shutter glasses? Now, what are the best AFFORDABLE shutter glasses?
3. Do these glasses come with a special card? If so, does it use ISA? If not, does it work straight from the VGA out of my GeForce3?
4. Is it compatible with the nVidia Stereo drivers?

Again, thanks in advance for any insight you can provide.

Better think about the future, too.
Even though you want a glasses this time for PC games with pageflip only, you'd better choose glasses eith Linebalnker function. Otherwise, you will have to buy a new one when Stereoscopic 3D over internet is needed.
Thanks to nVidia, all nVidia card users can enjoy free stereo drivers. Probably you have nVidia card now. Who knows whether you will change to a new card like ATI later on? Then nVidia stereo driver is not working, and have to purchase driver seperately.

We worked for several years targeting after market, not OEM. In this regard, we put most of our energy to VRCaddy. Still not 100% compatible with all the VGA cards and games, but we are very proud of our achievement. I suggest you visit our sites; www.vrstandard.com and www.vrcaddy.com.
I do not say that VRJoy2000 is the best one, but to say that it has One-touch button Lineblanker and VRCaddy free bundled with.
For your info, we decided to license VRCaddy to other glasses manufacturers, and you will see some glasses kit bundled VRCaddy sooner or later.

P.S.: Dear Christoph,
I checked with you pages (recommended), and found VRCaddyMe version with half resolution only. VRCaddyMe is a far outdated one, and we released VRCaddyPro a yesr ago and VRCaddyXP-PF recently. Both of them utilizes full resolution.

Also in the Driver section, Scitech Display Doctor now supports stereo in OpenGL with GLDirect and SDD 7 beta, both forced stereo and application controlled stereo. I am unsure about their Direct3D support though, I think it may be just application controlled support for D3D.
