IIS updated the site again. There is pictures of the new headset. Looks like they are focusing on their new wireless crap now.

Wow that new HMD is so lite! That's awesome! I wonder what ultra-wide FOV translates to?

It's got me interested. I hope coming soon means just that.

Well, at least I'm not a miserable cynic that appears to have been emotionally traumatized over, of all things, some sort of bad VR experience.

You are the one that appears to have bought something from IIS that you regret. I have yet to make a purchase. So you tell me. Who is the gullible one?

P.S. And I still think it looks cool.

I agree with Neil.. Even if it's vaporware the mock-up looked cool.

This stuff's still too pricey though. I wonder what effect the new OLED displays will have on these kinds of products. A low cost consumer version would be great for the First-Person shooter crowd. (like Me!)

Hey Michael,

The HMD that you saw is an engineering drawing, but the product is in development and will be priced in the $499-599 range to start. No release date yet, but we are working on it.

On the OLED stuff, is exciting technology, but it is not being mass produced yet. When it is, you will see some dramatic shifts in pricing for a lot of different devices.

Steve,

Any ability to comment on what ultra-wide field of view means yet?

Also what kind of input sources will it accept?

Thanks

Hey Neil,

We are evaluating 3 different lens designs. It is going to come down to cost and availability, as to what we end up using. The 3 have FOV's of 32, 37.5, 40.

As for input, the first versions will have some options: PC+S-video, or just PC. Xbox version to follow shortly after launch of the PC version.

Steve
